We would like to inform you that we are planning to split Toho Bussan Kaisha Ltd into two separate companies, which are handling agricultural products business and marine products/fresh foods one. The new companies’  names, as of this writing, shall be Mitsui & Co. Agri Foods Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. Seafoods Ltd. Respectively (provisional name).

Mitsui & Co Ltd shall be 100% shareholder of these two companies (same as Toho Bussan Kaisha Ltd’ s case).  We are targeting that this will occur in July 2022, setting up a new company of Mitsui & Co.Seafoods, Ltd.on July 1st, and also just changing the company’s name from Toho Bussan Kaisha, Ltd. to Mitsui & Co. Agri Foods, Ltd. afterwards during the fiscal year of 2022.

By creating two new companies, and with stronger alliance with Mitsui group, each can benefit from greater focus on its business field and strategic flexibility to drive long-term growth and value for customers, society and employees.
